![]() As Tribez we’ve been very active with sharing information and stories of the Transatlantic slave trade and its abolishment, especially in The Hague where we always organize events in the theme of the abolishment. In a few weeks, on the first of July, we also remember the abolishment of slavery in the Netherlands which was abolished in 1863 for the Dutch Caribbean and 1873 for Suriname. ![]() During her speech she expressed the importance of having Juneteenth as a federal holiday in the United States. Recently the Ambassador of the United States, Shefali Razdan invited Student Association Tribez for an event where we would commemorate Juneteenth at an event hosted by the United States embassy. Juneteenth is the American Remembrance Day where the United stay commemorates the abolition of slavery. Today the United States celebrates Juneteenth. Now, as the project lead on Student Engagement at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Jacqueline is devoting her time and knowledge to the advancement of historically underrepresented groups in academia and fostering a more inclusive student population. Throughout her studies, Jacqueline fulfilled communications, marketing and events coordinating positions at companies such as Deloitte Netherlands, Global Invest Group London, the Netherlands-Africa Business Council and PwC Netherlands. She also organized afro beats events in London and assisted at UK Black Pride festival 2019.
